Kettering Ice Arena in Ohio is in need of repairs of multiple major systems. This is according to a report by Nick Blizzard of The Dayton Daily News. The total cost may be $15.5 million, if the arena is demolished and replaced.
The article indicates that the arena is 50 years old and has been used in the past by at least three hockey organizations. The City of Kettering reportedly said that the arena is in “a position where replacement of several key components … is necessary, regardless of whether the facility remains an ice arena.”
The roof, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems all reportedly need replacement or significant refurbishment.
