Princeton Youth Hockey Association in Minnesota Facing Six-Figure Rink Repair in 2020

The Union-Times reports that the Princeton Youth Hockey Association faces a huge expense due to the failure of the refrigeration system in the East Rink in the Princeton Ice Center in Princeton, Minnesota.

According to the article, “Getting the ice operational could cost as much as $750,000. The inability to make ice is an association’s worst nightmare. According to Princeton Youth Hockey Association President Todd Frederick, there’s a break somewhere under the concrete floor.”

The article goes into details about how the arena managers discovered the problem, and all of the efforts made to repair the refrigeration system so far.

We hope for the best in this repair. Emergencies like this are one of the challenges that makes operating community-owned arenas so difficult.
